NEW LONDON, WI – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is inviting the public to a community meeting to discuss upcoming construction projects on U.S. Highway 45 and State Highway 54 that will impact Waupaca and Outagamie counties. The meeting will be a valuable opportunity for residents to learn more about these projects, ask questions, and provide their input.
The meeting will take place on October 24 at 5:30 p.m. at the New London Community/Senior Center.
The meeting will commence with a brief presentation at 5:30 p.m., during which WisDOT representatives will provide an overview of the planned construction projects. Following the presentation, attendees will have the chance to ask questions and seek clarifications during an open house session.
Key Project Information: Construction for these vital projects is slated to commence in 2026 and will bring several improvements to the roadways. The proposed work for U.S. Highway 45 includes:
- Replacing the pavement: The existing pavement will be replaced, ensuring safer and more efficient travel for motorists.
- Upgrading the guardrail: The guardrail will be modernized to meet current safety standards, enhancing protection for travelers.
- Completing curb and gutter replacements as needed: Curb and gutter replacements will be carried out as required, further enhancing the quality and durability of the road infrastructure.
In addition to attending the meeting in person, members of the public are encouraged to visit the project website to review a map of the work area and submit digital comments. This provides an accessible platform for citizens to express their thoughts and concerns about the upcoming projects.
