APPLETON, WI – Jacob D. Rudnick, 29 of Seymour, has been hit with a second set of sexual assault charges, just two months after the initial case against him.
Rudnick now faces two counts of third-degree sexual assault and one count of second-degree sexual assault for an incident that occurred last Halloween in a Town of Lessor park. Seymour Police initially received the victim’s statement and evidence but then transferred the case to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.
This comes on the heels of Rudnick’s involvement in another sexual assault case that allegedly took place in Lessor in July of this year, where he is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault.
While free on a $100,000 cash bond from the July case, Rudnick was arrested on September 12 in Seymour. Shawano-Menominee County Circuit Court Judge Katherine Sloma set a $200,000 cash bond for Rudnick, despite a request for a $1 million bond from the district attorney’s office.
In both cases, the alleged victims encountered Rudnick online via Snapchat before the incidents took place.
If convicted, Rudnick could face up to 40 years in prison for each of the second-degree assault charges, along with fines of up to $100,000. The third-degree assault charges carry potential prison sentences of 10 years and fines of up to $25,000.
