
Wayne A. Singer Sr., age 80 of Shawano, passed away Saturday morning, September 16, 2023, at The Pines Post-Acute and Memory Care in Embarrass.
Wayne was born October 6, 1942, a son of the late Edward and Adeline (Heling) Singer. He attended St. James Lutheran grade school and graduated from Shawano High School with the Class of 1960. Following high school Wayne was employed as a butcher at Dobratz Meats until it closed. He then went to work at Phenix Manufacturing then was a self-employed painter, retiring in 2010.
On October 12, 1963, Wayne was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Helen Baumgarten at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2005. He is a member of St. James Lutheran Church. Wayne was a passionate outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and ice fishing. He also enjoyed reading Westerns and was very active with his grandchildren. Wayne loved his dog, Missy Mae.
Survivors include his children, Traci (Mark) Gantt of Green Bay, Lisa (Mark) Bruette of Shawano, and Wayne “Buck” (Lori) Singer, Jr. of Thornton; his fiancé, Sandy Martens of Shawano; his grandchildren, Nickiann (Jeremy) Meyers, Jennifer (Willy) Zeeman, Samantha (Nate) Rankin, Shane (Cora) Hintz, Cody (Ashley Tomashek) Singer, Jerra Seehafer, Dylan (Melissa) Singer, Austin Singer, Aiden Bricko, and Lily Bricko; and his great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Kennedi, Kadence, Miley, Carson, Josie, Willow, Kinlee, Alyssa, Austin, and Lil. Wayne is further survived by his stepmother, Faye Singer of Wausau; his sisters, Judy Dankmeyer, Mary Singer, Sue Reil, Lori (Dan) Ory, Wendy Williams, Linda Williams, and Patricia Davidson; his brothers, Greg (Gail) Williams, and Jon Singer; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Alan Singer, Carl Williams, and Brian Singer, and his sisters, Debbie Hansen, and Judy Loken.
A funeral service for Wayne will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Vicar David Kaiser will officiate. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 10:30 am and continue until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano at a later date.
