
Randy J. Osburn, age 75 of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at his home following a brief illness. Randy was born in Milwaukee on September 28, 1947, a son of the late Howard and Bonnie (Holder) Osburn. He graduated from high school in Milwaukee, later attending UW-Eau Claire where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. Randy served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war, being honorably discharged on September 27, 1970. After obtaining his degree, he worked many years locally at Shawano County Department of Community Programs and Menominee County Human Services. Randy ended his career at Synergy Counseling Services in Shawano. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Randy was an avid golfer, a passion he shared with his grandchildren. He truly enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, good friends, Chuck LaMarche and Tom
Madsen, and many others in the Shawano area as well as the Pendleton family in Virginia Beach, VA. Randy cherished his family group chats with his siblings, with a highlight being their recent
reunion in June. He also enjoyed cheering on the Packers and the Brewers.
Survivors include his daughters, Yvette (Eric) Mueller of Greenville, Nicole (Lance) Dehnel of Newark, OH, and Lana (Jake) Kern of Shawano; his grandchildren, Braden, Josh, and Alex Mueller, Hailey and Landon Dehnel, and Aiden, Camden, and Linsly Kern; and his siblings, Oliver (Tommilynn) Osburn of Coral Springs, FL, Christine Peterson of Canton, OH, Vilma (Steve) Holt of Hannibal, MO, and Rose Piwonski of Hannibal, MO. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Osburn, four brothers, Howard, Richard, Robert, and Stanley Osburn and brother-in-law, Paul Piwonski.
A memorial service for Randy will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:00 am at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Pastor Richie Ford will officiate. Visitation will begin at the funeral home at 9:00 am and continue until the time of service. Military Honors will be conducted by Shawano AmVets Post #10.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (www.jdrf.org) or the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org).
