OCONTO, WI- In Oconto County court, Jeremy Hoover’s appeal for a new sentencing was denied. Hoover is serving 15 years after being convicted of sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography. The incidents took place in 2019. It was determined that Hoover repeatedly sexually assaulted a girl that was between 7 and 17 months old.
His argument for a new sentencing was that he should be able to withdraw his plea due to constitutionally ineffective assistance from his trial counsel.
