Paul J. Gruetzmacher, age 80 of Clintonville, passed away Sunday morning, June 11, 2023 at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.
Paul was born on November 9, 1942 in Embarrass as the son of the late Paul and Adelia (Dordel) Gruetzmacher. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1961 and dedicated 43 years working for Urban Telephone company, now named Frontier Communications. Paul was united in marriage to Marie Dammeir on November 13, 1976 at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass and the couple resided in Clintonville where they were members of St. Martin Lutheran Church. Paul enjoyed being outdoors. He loved fishing with Marie on their annual trip to Pickerel Lake and also enjoyed bowhunting whitetails. He was a member of both the Clintonville and Wisconsin Bowhunters Clubs and enjoyed watching the Clintonville A’s baseball games. Paul also had a bit of a green thumb when it came to gardening and he liked picking strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Paul was the type of guy to lend a hand when someone was in need. He definitely had the ability to make friends quickly and often had a good joke to share.
