Carol M. Schneider, age 66, of Cecil, passed away after a long and brave battle with kidney failure on Saturday May 13, 2023, in Appleton. Carol was born on July 8, 1956, to the late Norman and Margaret (Rungle) Herms, in Shawano. She graduated from Bonduel High School in 1974. She farmed with her former husband Jim. Carol owned and operated Carol’s Diner for 18 years until retiring. She was a lifetime member of White Clay Sportsman Club, Navarino Nature Center and Shawano County Conservation Association. Despite Carol being in and out of the hospital for the last several years of her life, she never lost her positive attitude and was a true inspiration to all that knew her. Even in Carol’s last days she was still living her life to the fullest planting her flowers and gardening. The last five years she took extreme joy being a grandmother to her grandson, Ashton.
Carol is survived by her son, Brad (Leandra Keefer) Schneider and her grandson, Ashton Keefer.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Margaret and former husband, Jim.
A funeral service for Carol will be held at 11:00 am on Friday May 19, 2023, at Swedberg-Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel with Moira Finley. Burial will be at Woodlawn. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am and will continue until the time of service at the funeral home.
