Orvil R Krueger died on Thursday, April 20, 2023 reaching almost age 94. As Orvil would say,” He’ll never do THAT again!”
Orvil was born June 2, 1929, to Albert C Krueger and Hertha (Spiegel) Krueger at their town of Pella home. “His mother was home that day”. Orvil was the 11th of 12 children. We can only imagine what went on with those kids!
Orvil graduated 8th Grade from the Maple Grove School. After that he disliked school so badly that one day, he “jumped from the car and ran home”. That ended his formal education. He worked with his Pa’s crew, his brother Hank and as a laborer and carpenter and on the family farm.
On September 2, 1951, he married Ann Dieck. Together they raised 3 children: Beverly, Shirley, and David. Ann died October 18, 2019.
In 1979, Orvil started his business as “The Building Doctor”. He and his crew would repair and straighten barns/sheds. Ann was the Bookkeeper. Orvil enjoyed talking to anyone who would listen. Whether it was about his accomplishments or his (not so famous) joke: “Hello Cousin… We both have the same Uncle Sam”.
His favorite past time was playing cribbage with his brother Albert and Spite & Malice with Ann.
He outlived most of his favorite people. His plan to live to 100 was cancelled when his body failed him.
Survivors include 3 children, Beverly (Tom) Krueger, Shirley (Mike) Tischauser, David (Jayme) Krueger. There are 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a brother, Leon (Carol) Krueger, a sister-in-law Marcella Bodoh, and many nieces and nephews.
Orvil was Preceded by his wife Ann; granddaughter Mindy Krueger; great grandson Aydan Krueger; his Parents, AC & Hertha Krueger & In-laws, Leonard & Marcella Dieck,
Further preceded by Siblings: Hattie (infancy), Adeline (Clyde Farrel & Roy Sommers) Sommers, Marcella (Norman) Helms, Evelyn (Louverne) Ehlert, Henry (Evelyn) Krueger, Harvey (Elsie) Krueger, Harold (Sylvia) Krueger, Willard (Adeline) Krueger, Albert (Delores) Krueger, Marvin (lrene) Krueger, Brother-in-Law: Jerry Bodoh & Nieces and Nephews

The family would like to sincerely thank Wayne Dankmeyer for years of dedication to Orvil’s wellbeing. He could not have lived there alone with you. We also wish to thank Greentree CAN’s, Nurses, and the ThedaCare Hospice Staff and volunteers. Orvil would say “they treat me very well”. We “kids” would say “they treat us all very well”. You do a job that not everyone could do. The care you show for your people is evident. Thank you.
