SHAWANO, WI- Shawano School District Superintendent Kurt Krizan is a finalist for the Superintendent position in the Menasha School District.
To remain transparent, Krizan sent an email to staff on Monday letting them know of the current situation.
“This afternoon, the Menasha Joint School District will announce to its community that I am one of three finalists for the superintendent position in that district. The selection process is far from over, however as a courtesy to you, I prefer to let you know before you read it or hear of it from another source,” Krizan said in his email to staff.
He also explained that opportunity was one that he felt he needed to look into. “You may or may not know that I live in the Menasha community. When I learned of an opportunity much closer to home in a district with a solid reputation, it attracted my wife and me to the possibility.”
Krizan told staff that he is remaining to be committed to keeping a strong focus on the vision that he had for Shawano when he came into the position.
Prior to coming to Shawano, Krizan was the Appleton School District’s Director of STEM and Principal of the Elementary Virtual School for one year. He also served as Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Little Chute Area School District for five years and a middle school teacher for the Oshkosh Area School District for 10 years.
“Regardless of the outcome of the selection process, I remain dedicated to doing my best for Shawano Schools. I believe we have established a sound foundation for continuous improvement.”
