William A. (Wild Bill) Stuhr, 45, of Bear Creek, died unexpectedly the evening of February 24, 2023, as the result of an auto accident.
He was born May 15, 1977, in New London to Elmer and Karen (Miller) Stuhr. He grew up north of New London in the Town of Maple Creek, attended Sugar Bush Elementary, and graduated from New London High School with the Class of 1995. He was also involved in 4-H and FFA.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman and spent a great deal of time in the woods hunting. Starting out at a young age going hunting with his dad, uncles and cousins at the Stuhr family property near Marion/Tigerton, and continuing as an adult going “up north” (Tigerton and Tilleda areas) with his father and two nephews, or hunting with a great group of hunting buddies at Tuck-A-Tail Lodge 2, where he was an Elite Pro Staff Member. He also made several trips out west, as well as being able to go hog hunting in Texas this past fall.
He also enjoyed helping at neighboring farms, being out in the fields, working land, planting, harvesting, etc. He was an exceptional mechanic (another skill he learned from his dad) and was employed for the past 25 years at Penske Truck Leasing, Neenah.
Bill touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his parents Elmer and Karen Stuhr, his sister Amy Stuhr, his nephews Dustin Handschke and Dylan (special friend, Savannah Werner) Handschke, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Hazel Miller and Elmer (Sr) and Helen Stuhr. “Our hearts are broken.”
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 4th at 11:00 AM at Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service, both days at the funeral home.
