WAUPACA, WI- A Manawa man is facing muiltiple charges after attempting to flee from officers, and nearly striking a CPS worker with his vehicle while trying to get away.
26-year-old Jeremyah D. Zander is in Waupaca County jail on a $25,000 cash bond, facing multiple felony charges.
Zander is charged with two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment, two counts of felony bail jumping, one count each of failure to comply with an officer while being taken into custody, resisting an officer and misdemeanor bail jumping.
The charges are in connection to an October 21 incident when deputies and case workers with Child Protective Services arrived at a Town of Little Wolf home to follow up on a complaint.
According to the complaint, deputies entered a shed and noticed that Zander removed a black object from the glove box of a UTV. He then reportedly ran to a different area in the shed and deputies heard an engine start. They noticed a pick up moving in reverse that ended up driving through a closed garage door.
Zander reportedly barely missed hitting one of the squad cars. The CPS workers had to move out of the way to avoid being hit.
Zander’s mother told the deputies he was using drugs again and kept the drugs in a small black bag in the UTV’s glove box, according to the complaint.
