MADISON, WI- Wisconsin’s governor says he will propose a two-billion-dollar increase in funding for public schools in the next state Budget. The Democratic governor wants to increase revenue limits by 350-dollars per pupil for the 2022-2023 school year, and by 650 dollars the following year. Governor Tony Evers says he also wants to provide 800-million dollars in additional state revenue to hold down the impact on local property taxes. He says he wants 750-million for special education and 240-million to make sure every Wisconsin school district has at least one full-time staff member focused on mental health services.
