SHAWANO, WI- The Wisconsin Department of Justice has released the names of two Appleton police officers who fatally shot a man earlier this month. The incident happened August 12th. Investigators say Officer Bryce Rudebeck and Officer Tony Shuman shot Daniel Pesavento during their response to a domestic disturbance call. They say the 29-year-old Pesavento was holding a handgun when he was shot. Reports are he was taken to a hospital where he died. The D-C-I says a gun was found at the scene. Officials are also reviewing police body camera video and cell phone video recorded by a witness.
