ANTIGO, WI- Langlade County has been identified as the location for the fourth case of monkeypox in the state. The Langlade County Health Department made the confirmation last week. Two cases have been identified in Dane County and one Milwaukee County. Health officials say the risk to the public is low, but people should be watching for common symptoms, including unexplained rashes, skin lesions, fever, chills, and swollen lymph nodes. Monkeypox is spread through close skin-to-skin contact. Recovery time is usually two to four weeks. Langlade County is continuing to work with the State Health Department.
