SHAWANO, WI- Shawano County Campground Owner Ann Retzlaff entered a not-guilty plea in court on Monday. Retzlaff has been charged with recklessly endangering safety charges related to a May 15, 2021 incident. She was also charged with felony disorderly conduct.
Retzlaff is representing herself in court, and insisted on a trial by jury. Marathon County Judge Michael Moran entered the not-guilty plea based on her desire. No dates for the next hearing have been scheduled.
In court on Monday, Retzlaff made another request for her $15,000 dollar cash bond to be reduced, but it was once again denied by Judge Moran.
More information was released about the campground that she owns, Annie’s Campground in Gresham. Documents show that their is civil action that was initiated by Bank First, regarding the $1.5 million dollars worth of mortgages on the property. It was also indicted that the campground failed multiple state inspections. Documents also show that the campground’s liquor license was set to expire on June 30 and would not have been renewed due to the fact that the campground failed to pay taxes the last two years, according to financial records.
A hearing has been scheduled for July. A that time, a sale of the campground could be ordered, according to documents.
