
Ruth G. Breaker, age 91 of Tigerton passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at Evergreen Health Services, Shawano.
The former Ruth Gladys Polley was born on August 7, 1930, in Wausau to Arthur “Hank” and Inga (Erickson) Polley. She was baptized on September 21, 1930, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Wausau, by Rev. I.M. Stubchaer. She was confirmed on June 25, 1944, at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton, by Rev. Clifford Streck. Ruth graduated from Tigerton High School in 1949. After high school she worked at Master Lock Company in Milwaukee and at Marathon Electric in Wausau.
Ruth was united in marriage on June 2, 1951, to Arden A. Breaker at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton, by Rev. Streck. After marriage, the couple dairy farmed in the Town of Germania, Shawano County, for many years. Ruth and Arden were married for 54 years until he preceded her in death on April 20, 2006.
Ruth did home care for Shawano County folks; helping people out by cleaning and delivering meals. She enjoyed making quilts for the church, working with the Tigerton Historical Society, and volunteering with the Tigerton phone book for the Main Street program.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce (Kathy) Breaker and Burton Breaker, both of Tigerton. There are 5 grandchildren: Karrie, Jason, Justin (Laura), Brittany, and Tanesha Breaker. There are 12 great grandchildren: Arden Breaker, August Breaker, Autumn Hohn, Jase Breaker, Jocelyn Breaker, Nolan Breaker, Demetrius Brown, Dai’ Jarrion Howard, Dayvon Dorenzo, D’navajo Bennett, Danayla Breaker, and Donovan Kruoch. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Jo Ann Breaker of Tigerton; one brother-in-law, Dennis Breaker of Tigerton; two Goddaughters, Cindy Polley and Jackie Anderson; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Martin and Lydia Breaker; a brother, Gene “Cub” (Alice) Polley; a brother-in-law, Delmar Breaker; two sisters-in-law, Leah Rae Breaker and Ethelyn Sachs; and one Goddaughter, Pamela Dankmeyer.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Tigerton. Rev. Dean Suehring will officiate and inurnment will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church. Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Tigerton, is assisting the family.
