
Schila L. Laux, age 93 of Clintonville passed away Friday, May 20, 2022, at Shawano Place Assisted Living with help from hospice.
The former Schila Leona Daebler was born on February 2, 1929, in Town of Seneca, Shawano County, to Frederick “Herman” and Helena (Pranke) Daebler. She graduated from the 8th grade at Belle Plaine School in 1942. Schila was united in marriage on November 2, 1951, to Roland J. Laux in Clintonville and they were blessed with five children and one stepson.
Schila worked in Clintonville for some years at Hanson Glove Factory, Schultz Brothers, Baker Canning Factory, and she also did home health care for folks in the area.
Schila was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, where she had taught CCD Class and volunteered on the finance committee. She also enjoyed serving as a 4H Leader for ten years. Schila especially liked crocheting, playing games, and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include her children: Gerald Laux, Michael Laux, Roland Laux Jr., Sandra (Terry) Baumgartner, and Sharon (Mike) Smith. There are 12 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Donna Daebler and Dorothy Bond; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Schila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roland Sr. on October 28, 1983; her stepson, David Laux; six brothers, Herbert (Clara), Clarence (Bonnie), Roland, Randall, Harvey, and Sylvester; and two sisters, Lenora Lane and Mabel (Rudy) Raddant.
Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 26th at 11:00 AM at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Fr. Timothy Shillcox, O. Praem will officiate and inurnment will follow in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of mass at the church.
