MAPLE VALLEY, WI- An Oconto County deputy and his police dogs escaped floodwaters last week when their squad car was washed away. The deputy was driving on a county road in the town of Maple Valley when the pavement collapsed and the squad car crashed into the water. After the airbags deployed, the deputy was able to get himself and his partners to safety without any injuries. No names have been released in the incident. Multiple roads were flooded, forcing some schools to close Friday. The severe storm passed through the area Thursday night.
