WITTENBERG, WI- The Wittenberg-Birnamwood School District is mourning the loss of a staff member. Technology Director Ben Deitz was injured in a car crash back on April 7. He passed away from his injuries over the weekend. A GoFundMe page has been started. The school district says they will have counselors and staff available on Tuesday for those who help.
“As many of our colleagues and students will process this information differently, we wanted to inform families as soon as possible,” a post from the school district says.
The Marathon County Crisis Line and Shawano County Crisis Line are also going to be available.
“Please keep the Deitz family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the school district said.
According to the GoFundMe page, Deitz had a wife and infant child.
