SHAWANO, WI- A petition has been started to remove Shawano Superintendent Randi Anderson. The petition was created by adult residents of the Shawano School District who state that they do not have confidence in her as a Superintendent.
“She did not act responsibly when she neglected to inform us of the budget deficit in a timely manner, spent resources at a disproportionate rate to accomplish administrative functions, and hired many consultants while knowing that a number of teachers’ positions would have to be right-sized.”
The petition also states that Anderson does not respect experienced teachers and staff, sees their departure as an opportunity to recruit new ones and states that they fear the district will not recover from the recent decisions.
According to information in the petition, retirements and resignations have risen by 75% in the past 12 months from the previous 36 months.
In the first 15 hours that the petition has been circulated, it has garnered over 550 signatures.
