IOLA, WI- The Iola Car Show is celebrating it’s 50th Anniversary this summer and it is estimated that it has generated $25-30 million dollars for Waupaca County and six nearby counties Annually. The other counties seeing growth from the Car Show include Marathon, Outagamie, Portage, Shawano, Waushara and Winnebago. Executive Director Joe Opperman says the canceling of the show in 2020 and the record-breaking show in 2021 told the story. The study was done by The Central Wisconsin Economy and they focused on three sources, organizational spending, visitor spending and out of the area investment on the Car Show grounds. The Iola Car Show began in 1972.
