
Elizabeth J. Satre, age 91, of Tigerton passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
The former Elizabeth Johanna Bella was born on April 6, 1930, in Stevens Point to John and Gertrude (Slowinski) Bella. She grew up and attended school in Stevens Point. Elizabeth was united in marriage on May 31, 1947, to Ewald E. Hoffman in Wausau. In her early days, she worked at several factories in the Chicago area. In the 1970’s she waitressed at Tigerton Café and was honored to be able to wait on Loretta Lynn and her husband Oliver when they came through Tigerton.
Elizabeth’s husband preceded her in death on September 24, 1977. She married a second time on May 24, 1980, to Harold Satre Jr. at Zion Lutheran Church, Tigerton, and he preceded her on May 19, 2020.
Elizabeth was a longtime member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She liked spending time outdoors, whether it was working in her huge flower garden, tending to her apple trees, or going fishing up in Michigan by the cabin. She loved animals and welcomed any stray dog that came up her road. Elizabeth was also musically gifted and could play the guitar and the accordion. She liked listening to music and polka dancing; and she even spoke pretty good Polish.
Survivors include four children: Beverly (Raymond) Redman of Greenville, Marjorie (Charles) Johnson of Merrill, John (Kate) Hoffman of Tigerton, and Robert (Lynelle) Hoffman of Ringle. There are 11 grandchildren: Jason (Missi) Redman of Menasha, Tina (Greg) Hanlon of Appleton, Erin (Jordan) Baab of Yokota AFB, Japan, Carly (Andy) Kelsey of Bothwell, Scotland, Missi (Chris) Rosenow of Marion, Beth (Garret) Rogowski of Wittenberg, Valerie Rosenow of Manitowoc, Mike (Trisha) Hoffman of Tigerton, Neil (Rachael) Hoffman of Tigerton, Allison (Darren) Wirth of Hudson, and Ryan Hoffman of Somerset. There are 26 great grandchildren: Max, Sawyer and Grace Hanlon; Ava, Asher, and Adaline Baab; Henry Kelsey; Presley, Cole, and Kade Rosenow; Derek (fiancée Riley) Hoffman; Reese, Jett, Harper, and Portia Rogowski; Kensi, Urban, Brynn, and Sage Rosenow; Meadow Pozorski; Kapri, Elsie, and Livey Hoffman; Carter Hoffman; and Marcus and Carson Wirth. She is further survived by one sister-in-law, Angie Bella of Stevens Point, and many other relatives and friends.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands, Ewald and Harold; a grandson, Lucas Anderson; and six siblings, Herman Bella, Joe Bella, Tom (Betty) Bella, Frank Suski, Stanley (Betty) Suski, and Helen (Henry) Corper.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 2nd at 11:00 AM at St. Martin Lutheran Church, Clintonville. Rev. Brian Weber will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service at the church.
