Gov. Tony Evers awarded more than $86 million in grants to support small businesses. He was in Keshena to present four separate checks to Indigenous groups, including members of the Menominee tribe. The money is meant to help small businesses in communities that historically had difficulty accessing credit and capital. Evers said “These funds will work, provide chambers of commerce and nonprofits by providing coaching and mentoring and technical assistance, internet services, digital learning, online learning and social media training, and lots of other things,” The grants were first announced in October. The money is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.
