
Delores E. Tomaw, age 93, of Keshena, passed away on February 6, 2022 in Shawano. She was born on September 23, 1928, to the late George and Sophie (Kenote) Tomaw in Keshena. Delores attended St. Joseph School in Keshena where she lived most of her life. She was a hard worker. She had owned and operated a gas station in Keshena, was a furniture maker, alcohol counselor, and she worked at the casino as a blackjack dealer. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling. Delores enjoyed playing guitar, polka dancing, and spending time with her cats. She also enjoyed eating fish and hardly missed a fish-fry. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the Kingdom Hall of Shawano.
She is survived by special friend, Jennie Boivin, and nieces: Bertha (Lyons) Steckbauer, Rosie Gun Gauthier, Myrna Caldwell and Velma “Baby Sally” Sanapaw. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, four half-brothers: Peter, Sylvester, Lloyd, and Jesse Gauthier; and her half-sister, Edna Lyons.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano. Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in the spring. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Kingdom Hall in Shawano. Swedberg Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Please bring your own mask as they will be required during visitation.
