APPLETON, WI- An 18-year-old man charged in a fatal shooting at the Fox River Mall has pleaded no contest. Dezman Ellis entered that plea to two charges during a hearing in Outagamie County Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon. The charge against Ellis was reduced from first-degree intentional homicide to second-degree intentional homicide. That is expected to cut his sentence in half. The plea deal means prosecutors agree that he has the right to defend himself, but the amount of force he used went too far. Ellis is to be sentenced in February.
