MADISON, WI- Republican State Representative Gary Tauchen will be returning home next week as he recovers from a medical scare last week.
According to the family, Tauchen was walking back to his apartment in Madison when he blacked out and fell. Tauchen suffered a broken ankle from the fall as was able to call 911 himself. After being taken to the hospital, he blacked out again. Family members confirmed that he had two blockages.
Things are looking better for the State Representative as he will be able to do his rehab in Shawano. He will be in a wheel chair until he can get a boot on his foot, but he plans to call in for his monthly spot on the WTCH Breakfast Club next week.
Republican state Senator Andre Jacque was finally back on the job Thursday when he chaired a meeting of the Wisconsin Senate’s human services committee. He also attended a hearing of the Senate judiciary committee the same day, both meetings by phone.
Jacque was hospitalized more than two months ago after testing positive for COVID-19. He was placed on a ventilator August 23rd and discharged September 21st. Jacque hasn’t said if he has been vaccinated.
