MADISON, WI – (Wisconsin Radio Network) -Industry experts say gas prices are going higher mostly based on the price of crude oil.
“It’s gone up eight dollars in the last three weeks, closing last Friday at 78-dollars, 30-cents a barrel,” said GasBuddy-dot-com spokesperson Patrick De Haan. That’s the highest level in more than seven years.
Wisconsin Public Service is warning customers that use natural gas for heating that they will be dealing with higher bills this winter. A supply shortage and a worldwide increase in demand have pushed prices to the highest level seen in more than a decade.
De Haan says U-S drivers are now spending an additional 400 million dollars at the pump every day.
W-P-S says Natural gas costs more than twice as much as it did last year at the time.
