TOWN OF UNDERHILL, WI- One person was killed and another arrested after a single-vehicle traffic crash on Sunday in Oconto County.
Sheriff officials were called out to the intersection of County Road V and County Road U just after 11:00pm.
Officials determined that a pickup truck was traveling westbound on County U when it failed to stop at the intersection and entered the ditch and struck some trees.
A 54-year old male from Gillett was found standing in the road outside of the vehicle. The passenger of the vehicle, a 54-year-old male from Keshena, WI was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene. The Gillett male sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors of the crash. The 54-year-old male from Gillett was transported to the Oconto County Jail and booked on the charged of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle and Operating after Revocation. An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office and the
Brown County Medical Examiner’s Office.
