GREEN BAY, WI- (Wisconsin Radio Network) -Officials at the Port of Green say it had its best month in five years during August. Cargo topped 335 tons, living the year-to-date totals six percent ahead of this date last year. Director Dean Haen says 25 ships visited the port in August, bringing this year’s total to 97. Through August last year, 93 ships had stopped at the Port of Green Bay. Leading cargoes during the month include domestic and foreign limestone, salt, cement, and foreign petroleum products.
