TOWN OF RED SPRINGS, WI- A Shawano County Sheriff Deputy was involved in an officer-involved shooting, Thursday evening in Red Springs.
The Department Of Justice says a deputy was responding to a crash on Upper Red Lake Rd. at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the town of Red Springs, near Gresham.
Officials say the individual had a gun and raised it toward the deputy, prompting the deputy to fire their weapon.
The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer was not injured, but the name of the deputy has not been released.
The deputy is now on administrative leave, which is standard procedure.
