WITTENBERG, WI- Two teens were taken to the hospital with injuries after a firework blew up in one of their hands.
The incident took place Sunday evening around 8:52 pm.
A 15-year-old male, 16-year old male and a 17-year-old male were lighting off fireworks. According to the report, one of the fireworks did not go off, resulting in the 15-year-old and 17-year-old attempting to relight it when it went off in their hands.
According to the police report from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, the caller indicated “We had fireworks and his hand is blown off.”
The extent of the injuries has not been confirmed by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office.
The 16-year-old did not have any injuries.
Names will not be released due to them being juveniles.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wittenberg Ambulance and Wittenberg Fire Department.
