Patrick “Pat” Tody, age 67, of Clintonville passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Neenah, after several years of health issues.
Patrick Steven Tody was born on December 5, 1953, in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Steven and Alice (Ferguson) Tody. As a young boy his parents moved to a farm in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, and he attended Marion High School. Pat was united in marriage on December 3, 1977, to Laura M. Laufenberg in Missouri.
For most of Pat’s life he was a farmer at heart first. He often had a hobby farm and raised all sorts of animals over the years. Pat worked close to 11 years as a painter at Marion Body Works. While there he often used a vacation day to work his side job and his co-workers ended up coining the phrase “Tody Day” whenever they took time off. Then he proudly became an owner and operator driving semi-truck for Graebel Van Lines moving company which he did for close to 10 years. Pat had also drove milk truck for Belle Plaine Cheese Factory for some time.
Pat enjoyed painting and restoring old tractors. He was always looking to buy or sell a tractor. He was a jack of all trades and a true handyman who could fix just about anything. Pat liked tinkering out in his garage, mowing the grass, and helping neighbors with all sorts of projects. He will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor and being quite the jokester. Pat loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Laura; and three children, Ronda (Dustin) Demitriou of Big Falls, Jennifer (Tim) Schuelke of Manawa, and Mike Tody of Clintonville. There are nine grandchildren: Jeffery (fiancée Courtney), Hallie-Mae, Henry, Peyton, Owen, Isaiah, Ashton, Elizabeth, and Brehnen. There is one great grandson, “JJ”. There are six siblings: Kay (Rick) Miller of Waupaca, Shirley Boyette of Crivitz, Susie (Mike) Schutt of Texas, Rick (Kathy) Tody of Clintonville, Mary Schmidt-Arndt of Marion, and Connie Mauritz of Tigerton.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Katie Mae Hope; three brothers-in-law, Duane Schmidt, Mitch Mauritz, and Bill Boyette; and his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Mona Laufenberg.
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Sunday, June 27th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Cedar Springs Golf Course, E7005 Cedar Springs Rd., Manawa 54949.
