Daniel Trudgeon has been hired as the new Varsity Volleyball Head Coach at Shawano Community High
School. He fills the position vacated by Lew Worthington after the 2020 season due to health reasons.
“I am greatly excited to return to a normal volleyball season with the Shawano Hawks in this new role,” said
Trudgeon. “We have many talented players returning and many up and coming players ready to prove
themselves. I’m looking forward to working closely with the other returning members of the coaching staff to
continue building on a strong, competitive program.”
Trudgeon supported Coach Worthington as the varsity assistant coach at SCHS in 2020. Prior to joining the
Hawk’s coaching staff, he worked his way into a coaching role at Ferris State University. At Ferris State,
provided coaching support in practices and game settings, as well as with individual player training sessions.
He also served as the President of the Men’s Club Volleyball program in Big Rapids, MI. While he was a high
school student in Bessemer, MI, he was a volunteer assistant coach with the school’s womens’ team.
Coach Trudgeon joined the Shawano community in 2017 when he came to work for KerberRose as a staff
auditor. He was promoted to Senior Auditor in 2019 and provides assurance services to local governments,
school districts, and other governmental districts.
Daniel plans to jump into his new role right away. “I am hoping to get into the gym plenty this summer between
local leagues and open gyms to make up for lost time last summer and fall. This group of girls has the drive to
achieve greatness in the gym and I will give it my all to lead them there.”
The Hawks are looking to build on an abbreviated 2020 season that saw them finish with an overall record of 4
wins and 6 losses from a schedule that limited their play to only conference dual matches.
