TIGERTON, WI- With news of health concerns with the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine being released, ThedaCare’s Rural Health Initiative has postponed their agriculture worker vaccine clinic that was scheduled to take place today in Tigerton.
“ThedaCare’s position is that it is better to be safe than sorry,” said Rhonda Strebel of the Rural Health Initiative.
The original plan was to offer vaccination appointments for anyone involved in the agriculture industry, including farm owners, farm employees, spouses, hoof trimmers, vets, milk haulers, nutritionists, seed dealers, milk plan workers, and production workers.
The FDA recently announced a pause in administering the Johnson and Johnson vaccine after reports of blood clotting.
“We will wait to see what the federal government does and go from there,” Strebel said.
She says they are discussing with the state, health departments and ThedaCare on how to proceed for their vaccination clinic that is scheduled for Thursday in Bonduel.
