Bertie Regina “Jeanne” Asenbrenner, age 72 of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 after suffering a massive stroke. Jeanne was born on January 30, 1949 to the late Britton and Annie Mae (Helms) Morris in Florida and grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. On July 12, 1980, Jeanne was united in marriage to John A. Asenbrenner in Madison. Jeanne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis where she taught high school catechism. Jeanne was also a member of the Lions Club for many years, loved traveling, photography, and fostering dogs. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jeanne is survived by her husband of 40 years, John; children, Michael Asenbrenner of Madison and Ronda (Lance) Otey of Texas; grandchildren, Abigayle (Nick), Samantha, Morgan, Elijah, and James; and siblings, Wayne (Kathleen) Morris, Diane Martin, Ray (Cindy) Morris, JoAnn Ellis, Reneé (Freddie Drake) Adam, Darrell (Bonita) Morris. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Higgins.
A funeral service for Jeanne will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 19, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis with Fr. Nonito Barra officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
