GREEN BAY, WI – The Packers received sad news just days ahead of their NFC Championship game Sunday. Former General Manager Ted Thompson died Wednesday evening.
The news was confirmed by multiple sources, but the team has not made a statement.
Thompson was 68 years old.
Thompson was General Manager from 2005 to 2018 and helped build the last Super Bowl Championship team that the team had. His first draft choice as GM was quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Thompson was moved out of the General Manager position and later revealed that he had an autonomic disorder.
Thompson was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame in 2019.
