OCONTO CO, WI-The snow on the ground may be enticing for snowmobilers but snowmobile club leaders in Oconto County say it is not quite time to open the trails.
The Chute Pond Snowmobile Club says all Oconto County trails are closed at this time. Grooming of the trails is taking place and the waterways need to be frozen and club leaders need to make sure that there are not any trees that fell on the trails.
There are about 440 miles of trails in Oconto County. Last year, the trails opened on December 20. Snowmobilers can be fined up to $230 dollars for riding on a closed trail.
