MARINETTE COUNTY, WI (Wisconsin Radio Network) – The district attorney has ruled a Marinette County Sheriff’s deputy was justified when he fatally wounded a man while responding to a domestic disturbance call last month. Deputies say 74-year-old Duane Rich of Milwaukee led deputies on a high-speed pursuit, driving through yards at times, and came out of his car with a gun in his hand and he made a sweeping motion toward Deputy Jesse Parr. Investigators with the Wisconsin Department of Justice says Parr had a “reasonable perception” that Rich was willing to use the gun and the deputy acted appropriately.
