
Marrian M. Tomashek, age 93 of the Town of Waukechon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Markesan Residential Assisted Living and Rehab Center.
Marrian was born June 2, 1927 in Bonduel, the daughter of the late William and Hildegard (Radloff) Gehm. She attended country school, and graduated from Bonduel High School. On November 30, 1946, Marrian was united in marriage to her most cherished life companion and love of a lifetime, Vincent Tomashek at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the Town of Waukechon. After many years of farming, Marrian and Vince bought R&R Lanes in Shawano. The couple owned and operated the bowling alley from 1967 until the early 1990’s when they retired.
Marrian is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano, and she loved to see the familiar faces there every Sunday morning. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 40 et 8 Local 986, and she cared deeply for her community around Shawano. Marrian loved her home full of love, the growth and passing of many generations and boundless memories. She loved the birds that she cared for, mowing her large lawn, and the activity in the fields. Marrian enjoyed delivering crocheted and crafted gifts and treats to her loved ones. A dear friend to many, she carried memories of beautiful travels, golfing, bowling, boating, and enjoying evenings of Wisconsin supper club dining.
Marrian treasured her large family. Her surviving family members include her loving children, Mary Campbell of Green Bay, Michael (Carol) Tomashek of Madison, Jeanne (Donald) Yeager of Clintonville, and Kathleen (Eric Ascher) Tomashek of the Town of Waukechon; six grandchildren, Mary Francess (Gregory) Poul, Laurie (Mark DeWitt) Jarvey, Katie (Tim) Menzel, Kristy Tomashek, Jessica (Brent) Meier, and Ryan Yeager; ten great-grandchildren, Kylie and Sierra Poul, Cortney and Kiara Jarvey, Kaitlin, Cody, and Carly Menzel, Grace and Andrew Meier, and Jeremiah Yeager. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent, on August 30, 1997, and her brother, William (Sylvia) Gehm.
A private blessing service and entombment with family and close friends will be at the Sacred Heart Catholic Mausoleum in Shawano at a future date, due to Covid.
