
Allen “Yogi” Martinez, age 56 of Keshena, formerly of Cicero, Illinois, started his journey to the Spirit World on Friday, December 18, 2020.
Al was born June 13, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois, a son of Pedro and Louise (Shawanomitta) Martinez. He attended school in Cicero, IL, graduating from Morton High School in 1983. He was employed at Brinks as a security officer for ten years. He was later employed at Omega Construction in Chicago. Al moved to Keshena in 1994 and was employed as a firefighter for the Neopit Fire Department. He completed Fire Fighter Training I and II, as well as ice water rescue. Al was also employed at Menominee Tribal Enterprise. He moved to Green Bay in the early 2000’s where he was employed at Georgia Pacific Paper Company and Proctor and Gamble Company.
In 2011 he moved back to Keshena and finished his working career at Menominee Regional Transit. He loved fishing, camping, and watching the Chicago Bears. He also enjoyed rides in the woods, and going to the casino. Al cherished the time spent with his family and friends.
Survivors include his four children, Lillian (Paul Frechette) Martinez, Niko (Nashay Fish) Martinez, Janice (Edwin Warrington) Menchaca, and Jeremy Tomow of Keshena; his grandchildren, Jaylen, Penelope, Muhula, Mariah, Shay, and Cienna; the love of his life, Cheryl Warrington of Keshena; his parents, Pedro and Louise Martinez of Shawano; his sisters, Karla Martinez of Naperville, IL, Joleane Dorgan of Stevens Point, and Rosita Martinez of Shawano; brother-in-law, Joe Dorgan; sisters-in-law, Janice (Leonard) Latender, Diana Fish, and Constance Warrington; nieces and nephews, Richie, Johnnie, Alexandria, Bobbie, Juan, Jessica, and Joey, Elisa, Orlando, and Trinity; his furry grandpup, Milo; and his special friend, Frank Delgado. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Juan Martinez.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. Masks and social distancing will be required. Interment will be private. “Da Bears”
