
Dale A. Buettner, Sr. age 75 of the Town of Wescott, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 11, 2020 at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.
Dale was born on February 8, 1945 in Shawano, a son of the late Ernest and Ida (Adams) Buettner. He attended and graduated from Shawano High School. Following high school, Dale served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Initially, he was part of the 9th Infantry, being in the 4th of the 47th battalion. Later he was moved to the 3rd of the 39th battalion. Upon returning home, Dale continued his education as a journeyman for GM. He started out sweeping the floors, and by the time he was done with his almost 39 year career, he was one of the lead journeyman on the powertrain line. On October 8, 1977, Dale married Donna Jean Breazeale in Belleville, MI where Donna was born. The couple lived in Ypsilanti until 2003 when they retired and moved to the Shawano area.
Dale was a member of St. Jakobi Lutheran Church in the Town of Richmond. He was known to his loved ones as someone who would help anyone in need. He loved football, deer hunting, fishing, racing, and going to the casino with Donna to play their favorite slot machines.
Left to cherish Dale’s memory are his children, Dale Buettner of Oshkosh, Misty Buettner of Green Bay, and Scott Buettner of Shawano; two grandchildren, Donna Buettner and Jaxon Scott Buettner-Wendricks; his dog, Bella; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; his siblings, Ernest Buettner, Jr., Bonnie Buettner (Mier), and Gene Buettner; and his dear dog, Sasha.
A funeral service for Dale A. Buettner, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Jakobi Lutheran Church in the Town of Richmond. Pastor Travis Kleinschmidt will officiate. Interment will take place in the church cemetery following the service. Military honors will be conducted by Shawano AmVets Post #10. Visitation will begin at the church at 9:00 AM and continue until the time of service.
