SHAWANO, WI – The vote on the 2nd Amendment and Sanctuary County issue for Shawano County will not take place until August.
Shawano County Board Chairman Tom Kautza made the decision to cancel the Board meeting for this month due to a lack of agenda items.
Last month, the 2nd Amendment vote was postponed due to concerns of the issue resulting in a large crowd, causing concerns for social distancing enforcement.
It has been quite a few months since the Public Safety Committee voted to send the issue to the County Board.
The resolution states that the county “shall not appropriate any funds for any enforcement of unconstitutional laws against the people of Shawano County, and requests the Sheriff to utilize his discretion to avoid the unlawful enforcement of any law which unconstitutionally impedes our fundamental Second Amendment Right to Keep and Bear Arms.”
Kautza told tchdailynews.com last month that he has no intention of trying to avoid taking up the issue and having the board vote on it.
