OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, WI – The Outagamie County Highway Department is kicking off a three day project at the intersection of State Highway 15 and County JJ.
The project is expected to go through Wednesday and includes closing a portion of Highway 15.
A detour that takes vehicles on County M, Highway 96 and Highway 76 will be in place.
“When we close off important roads like this, there is a disruption, but this is an area where we have had some accidents and it is important to get that bypass lane lengthened,” said Outagamie County Highway Commissioner Dean Steingraber.
State Highway 15 will be detoured on County M to Highway 96 to Highway 76. County JJ will be detoured on Highway 76 to Highway 96 to County M to Highway 15.
The work will add a new bypass lane at the 15-JJ intersection and will including pavement markings and shouldering.
Steingraber says it is a good time to do the project due to the lack of school traffic and overall traffic.
