Marceline J. “Marce” Schmitt, age 86 of Shawano, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, April 22, 2020. She was born February 6, 1934 in Shawano, a daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Strand) Brzezinski. Marce attended Shawano schools. After raising her children, she enjoyed her years of working with the original theatre group at Mielke Theater, the Shawano City-County Library, and as a storyteller throughout the area.
Marce is survived by her children, Debbie (Greg) Rades, Daniel (Cindy) Sousek, and Jeffrey (Joan) Sousek, all of Shawano, and Julie (Hans) Schmitt of Birnamwood; her grandchildren, Isaac (Amy) Rades, Danielle Sousek, Justin (Traci) Sousek, Ian (Alyssa) Schmitt, Brady (Christina) Rades, Ryan Sousek, and Hannah (Grant) Kuehnl; her great-grandchildren, Jason, Trinity, AJay, Jayla, Sawyer, Preston, and Landon; and her brother, Edward (Ursula) Brzezinski, and sister, Ann Shelley. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Brzezinski.
A Memorial Mass for Marceline Schmitt will be celebrated on Friday, May 1, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Scott Valentyn will be the Celebrant. Inurnment will take place at the Parish Cemetery. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family regrets that the public may not attend the Mass. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Memorials are preferred to the Shawano City-County Library in Marce’s name.
