CALDWELL COUNTY, MO – After a bunch of hearing delays, the preliminary hearing for Garland Nelson was waived Thursday, resulting in the order for trial.
Nelson is charged with the murders of Nick and Justin Diemel of Shawano County.
Last year, the two brothers went missing after a business trip to Missouri, and it was later determined that the remains that were identified as the brothers were found on the farm property owned by Garland Nelson.
Arraignment is scheduled for May 4 on multiple charges, including two counts of murder in the first-degree.
According to Police records, the Diemel brothers were at Nelson’s farm last July to collect money that was owed to them. The bodies were burned and hidden in a manure pile, according to reports from the investigation.
