SHAWANO, WI – A man who was convicted of crimes related to graffiti at three schools in the Shawano School District was sentenced to 9-months in jail. 19-year-old Peyton Pagel entered a no-contest plea to a total of eight charges.
Pagel was facing six counts of criminal damage to property after he was arrested for racially-charged graffiti on the Shawano High School, Middle School and Olga-Brener School buildings. The graffiti included a swastika, a male body part, a threat and other obscene references.
According to police records, Pagel said he was board and he meant for it to be funny.
Pagel will also need to perform 20 hours of community service and will be on probation for two years.
