SHAWANO, WI – The City of Shawano is making some adjustments to their Public Work Services.
Beginning Monday, yard waste and leaves will be picked up curbside if they are placed in biodegradable bags or containers.
Plastic bags filled with yard waste and leaves will not be picked up.
The leaf vacuum will also not be running for piles left curbside.
Wood waste pickup also begins on Monday which would include wood or tree limbs left curbside.
Limbs should be no more than 4-foot long and place on the curb.
City residents can also take their wood yard waste and leaves to the landfill during open hours at no charge.
The regular garbage and recycling pickup schedule is still in place.
Originally, the Shawano Public Works Department took steps to reduce their crew size to aid in social distancing. It is likely that some of the services may take longer than residents may be used to.
