OCONTO FALLS, WI- While concerns of COVID-19 has risen, so too have gun sales.
Mark Micoley, Owner of Rocky Ridge Shooters Supply in Oconto Falls says the last week was big for gun and ammo sales.
“I have not seen a week like that since the week before deer hunting,” he said. “Mainly it has been pistols or shotguns that people have been going for.”
Micoley says there is no particular reason why the sales would have increased other than a wide range concern that he says more than likely stemmed from responses to the Coronavirus pandemic. He says this sort of thing has happened before.
“Three years back when everyone thought that Hillary Clinton was going to the president and she was really big on the gun issue, that also caused us to have a really big run on stuff.”
As far as who the costumers are that are buying, Micoley says it everyone.
“I have had a housewife, a school teacher, guys come in, you know, just about anyone who is worried about things going bad.”
“They hoarded toilet paper and a few other things and so now they are trying to protect it because if they did not have a gun before, they decided that they needed one now.”
