SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano-Menominee Counties Health Department says testing is being done, and as to the day, all test results returned have come back negative for COVID-19.
The Health Department is making a call for everyone to collectively do what they can to protect the health and safety of the community.
“We know there is illness in the community, and it is likely we have COVID-19 among us,” the release stated. “With limited testing available to detect a confirmed case, we encourage you to keep watching for any signs or symptoms and to stay home as much as possible, especially if you have an illness.”
Shawano-Menominee County Health Department is reporting more than 30 negative tests that they know of, but said they are waiting for many more results and many more are waiting to be tested.
The Health Department says they are continuing to monitor the evolving situation and work to slow the spread of illness.
TRAVEL ADVISORY
The Health Department has also issued a travel advisory for seasonal and second homeowners.
The recommendations in that those homeowners stay in their permanent home area if they have a second or a seasonal home in Menominee County.
People who have a seasonal home in Menominee County, are being asked to stay in their winter homes at this time and for those who are already back in Menominee County, they are encouraged to self-quarantine for fourteen days.
Menominee County has a large population of older adults and other high-risk individuals.
