Shawano County is taking a proactive approach to the Coronavirus. This week at the Shawano County Board meeting, Administrative Coordinator Brent Miller said they are going to limit face to face contact while keeping as many Shawano County Services open. The Shawano County Board approved the protocol which would allow for committee meetings to be held by phone to avoid the face to face contact if needed.
According to Miller, the County needs to stay open for various important services and people following the procedures that are being put in place will make that easier.
Some of the early closures came in the Human Services Department with the closing of Lakeland Industries as well as closing congregate meal sites. Human Services Director Rick Kane says the home-delivered meals are still being delivered.
